During my time at University I have participated on many projects taking various roles, however I usually found myself taking on the managerial and graphical workloads.
eLearning Game
As part of this project we developed an eLearning game designed to help teach first aid. The team had to develop the game with multiple criteria in mind including learning objectives etc. We decided to build the game using flash as the basis. The graphics were developed by myself. The game can be found on a sister website set up for the project here: eLearning Game Site.
As part of a security module we were tasked with developing a website for a single university module in order to provide marks and feedback from assessment. I decided to build a complete marks referral and assesssment site, capable of taking on multiple modules and usable. The site can be found at EFSCE Website. You will need a login to access the site and this dictates your privileges. There is a student section, however it utilises input fields. While the site has been appropriately protected a determind malicious hacker could cause damage. A lecturer login uses "da", "daTest£" if you wish to see that side of the site. The site was my first complete development using PHP with a MySQL back end and I also developed a PHP powered stylesheet switcher for accessibility options.
Dissertation
My dissertation revolved around the use of multimedia to improve learning. I carried out research to elicit what students could actually use day to day for their studies to improve the quality of their revision and ultimately exam results. I developed a solution termed "notes+" of which the front page prototype can be found here: notes+.
